The three years that I spent working in Egypt turned out to be the last in President Hosni Mubarak's three decades in power. Yet for most of my time here, I would have predicted a very different exit for him than the dramatic events of the 25 January revolution. Having reported on poverty, youth unemployment, corruption and torture, I was in no doubt that Egyptians had deep grievances. Yet I found it hard to believe in people power. I had witnessed successive anti-government protests, where the brutal security forces massively outnumbered the few dozen activists on the streets. It was Tunisia that provided a new model.

Grievances of Egyptian protesters were focused on legal and political issues including police brutality, state of emergency laws, lack of free elections and freedom of speech, corruption, and economic issues including high unemployment, food price inflation and low wages. The Egyptian revolution was an immense step towards democracy and freedom. This revolution was considered to be one of the greatest revolutions of world history. However, this revolution is not close to finishing. There are still many of obstacles ahead, conflicts that arise after every revolution as shown in history.
The Egyptian Revolution of was a movement, that followed a popular uprising that began on January The revolution consisted of numerous demonstrations, plaza occupations, marches, riot, non-violent civil resistance, strikes and civil disobedience. The protesters demanded the overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak. Number of grievances caused the protest against the running government: police brutality, lack of free elections, corruption, numerous economic issues such as high unemployment rate and low wages.
